South Fork Boise River Projects

The SF Boise River is popular and important regional recreation area, managed as a blue ribbon tail water trout fishery by Idaho Fish & Game.

2004: Tailwaters Boat Ramp

Constructed with the partnership of the US Forest Service and Idaho Fish & Game, the Tailwaters Boat ramp provides a put-in at the upper section of the SF Boise River (below Anderson Ranch Dam.

2008: Danskin Boat Ramp

Constructed with multiple partners including US Forest Service, Idaho Fish & Game, US Bureau of Reclamaion, the Danskin boat ramp provides boat put-in and take-out at the mid section of the SF Boise River.  This ramp is used by many recreationalists including fishermen and whitewater rafting enthusiasts.  BVFF contributed $13,000 toward the $60,000 project.

In April 2008 the project was dedicated to Ken Magee, one of the lead founders of Boise Valley Fly Fishermen in 1971, who passed away in 2006.

 

2012: Pierce Creek Culvert Replacement

This project, in a consortium of partner groups, replaced a culvert across the county road blocking passage for spawning rainbow trout with a bridge.  BVFF member volunteers helped with erosion control plantings.
